Generally there are two types of jambu known, a small jambu (Syzygium aqueum) and large jambu (Syzygium samarangense).

Originally both types of jambu are not much different. Little jambu is estimated to come from the region of Southeast Asia, while large jambu is native to Indonesia. In the early 20th century, this plant has been cultivated in several other countries, such as Jamaica, Suriname, Curacao Islands, Aruba, and Bonaire. And at this moment, jambu has been widely grown and developed in other countries such as India, Thailand, China, countries of Central America, and South America. Superior Jambu : Jambu Citra

Superior jambu called Jambu Thailand actually has a real name of Jambu Citar. Founded by Dr. Ir. Moh. Reza Tirtawinata (one of the expert staff at Mekarsari Fruit Garden, Bogor) in 1990 in Anyer, Banten. This variety has been released as the lead national fruit and it is superior jambu varieties than most other types of jambu. The advantage lies in the figure of a large fruit resembles a bell and can reach weights 250 gram per fruit, with a shiny red fruit color. Fruit flesh thick, soft, sweet taste (12 – 15 °Brix) and seedless. This jambu was brought to Thailand in 1999 and began to be widely cultivated. They call it by the name of Thong Sam Sie, which means three-color gold. Until now this varieties is the supreme variety there. Now Jambu Citra have also been widely planted in other countries such as Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia as well of course.

Jambu for Health

Jambu have a good and enough nutrient composition. As the name suggests, the main advantages of jambu is high water content, which reached 93 grams per 100 grams. Planting Potted Fruit Plant

Planting steps :

Pest-Free Jambu
